An assortment of thoughts for the beginning of November.

The first woman to translate Homer’s Odyssey into English. “[A]ll translations are interpretations.”

I’m currently reading How to Think by Alan Jacobs and scrawling notes in the margins on every other page, many of which are additions to my TBR list. Most recently I added Are Women Human? by Dorothy Sayers.

My book haul from Half Price Books yesterday.

I’m super excited to read these books. I got a couple of books on writing. I haven’t ever written fiction but I’m curious about it.  I tend to be overly economical with words, and I’d like to stretch my legs a bit. I’d also just like to understand how to be a better reader.

The Texas Book Festival is this weekend, and I’m overwhelmed. There are so many things I want to see, and they are all happening at the same time.

And why coming home makes you have to go to the bathroom.

The time change is also this weekend. This time it’s the good one. Enjoy!
