Back from Santa Fe

We had a good ol’ time in Santa Fe.  We went shopping and ate fabulous meals at home.  My mom and I went hiking on Atalaya Trail on a beautiful day. We ate at Cafe Pasqual on a cold, rainy day; red + green enchiladas and a Mexican hot chocolate hit the spot. We wandered down Canyon Road in the evening, and coveted these wind sculptures.

On the last day, my Dad had a fever and wound up going to the hospital. The chemo dose had been too high, and decimated his blood cells. The hospital in Santa Fe has been treating them very well; apparently the staff are very attentive and the doctors are accessible, which is a contrast to the overwhelmed staff of the Houston hospitals. So any doubts about traveling to Santa Fe during the treatment have so far been allayed.

Now the good news… I start my new job on the 22nd!  Yes, something finally came through.  It pays better, I don’t have to work on Saturdays, and I think it will lead to bigger and better things for me.  Finally, I can stop the job application madness.  I actually had a dream last night about going to an estate sale– I guess I’m ready for some free Saturdays!

I’m glad you had a good trip, with lots of good friends and Hikes but sorry about your Dad. Where is that wonderful door?

The doors are in La Plazuela, the restaurant at La Fonda hotel. Aren’t they gorgeous?

Not eating green chile every single meal was a huge mistake. Caviar and truffles are dog barf compared to the greatest food item in the known universe.
