An anaheim!

Sweetpea and I did some work in the garden this morning.  The vegetables are all feeling better now that the summer heat has diminished slightly and some rain fell.  The green beans are flowering, the tomatillos are producing, and the Malabar spinach is making a run up the fence.  And one of the pepper plants felt good enough to produce an Anaheim chile!

Isn’t it beautiful?  The other pepper plants are flowering– mucho nacho, aji flor, anaheim, “some kind of red chile” (BT!), tabasco, habenero, and hot jalapeno.  The native chile pequins are also starting to fruit in the front yard; we plan on eating them, if the birds leave us any.

On that note, I am headed off to Santa Fe for a few days to vacation with my parents.  Mmmmmm…chiles.

That pepper is gorgeous! Congratulations. I have yet to produce peppers, but I haven’t tried very hard. I think I’m going to go ahead and stick some jalapeno seeds in a pot tomorrow and see what happens! Have fun in lovely New Mexico.

Your veggies look incredibly healthy. Please tell me what you are going to do with your mucho nachos because I have some and have posted the plant and question on my blog.
