Good news and bad news

The good news is that I went to Houston this week and picked up my Seagull twin lens reflex camera. I thought it was my grandmother’s, but she completely denies having ever seen it. Nobody else knows whose it was, and it’s been in “my room” at my parents’ house for 20 years. So I decided to claim it, have it cleaned up at a repair shop, and try to use it. Funnily enough, it was the only camera I had with me on this trip, and my 6-year old niece decided we needed to plant a garden on Tuesday. Of course! Let’s hope the really helpful guy at Houston Camera Exchange wasn’t wasting his time trying to teach me how to use it, and the pictures of the new vegetable and herb container garden turn out.

The bad news? I only made it to one house on the Crestview Garden tour due to an ordeal involving transporting my moped from San Marcos to Austin (in a van, it doesn’t start and I wouldn’t drive it that far anyway!). So, I don’t have any of the promised garden photos. I did enjoy the garden I got to see, and I met a lot of lovely gardening neighbors. I can’t wait for the next one. To compensate, here is a picture of Kitty having a really good time. Happy dog photos can make up for a lot, right?
