Do you like them? I made them myself!

My grandmother is an artist, which I think is why I was constantly enrolled in art classes in elementary school. As you can see, my clay sculptural skills were somewhat primitive– I can’t even tell what that pink animal is supposed to be. I’m trying to organize and decorate the house, and I have to say my decorating skills are as primitive as these little tchotchkes. Just like in the garden, I have affinities for so many different styles it’s hard to pick just one. And my stab at ‘eclectic’ is more college dorm than Todd Oldham. It’s like choosing one kind of music to listen to all the time. Ergh. I just got back from Ikea, and it reminded me that I am completely lacking in decorating talent. My masterpieces, however, are staying put on the screen porch next to the houseplants. I am confident in that decision, at least!

I believe your sculptures really are masterpieces and should be prominently displayed! I think they’re very colorful and whimsical.

They say that if you surround yourself with things you truly love, they will all mesh together successfully!
