Peachy!

Look! Peaches! Remember the flowers? Well, here is the fruit.  The tree is full of them; hopefully the birds and squirrels will leave us some.

This is a bamboo plant that I bought at the Bamboo Festival at Zilker.  It’s variegated chino, and it’s been dormant all winter.  But look! There are new shoots!  On the left, a little hard to see, but there is indeed some new growth.  I have to say I spent more than I normally spend on one plant, but I am hoping this one was worth it.

The sod-busting project is still in progress.  I have BT signed up to help out tomorrow.  His veggies look happy after the soaking rain we had Thursday night.  The ‘mucho nacho’ pepper already has a fruit!

Fresh peaches. I can’t imagine anything lovelier as they are one of my very favorite fruits. 🙂

I hope so! This is our first year at the house, so I haven’t gotten to see yet. They grow well in Fredericksburg, but the soil out there is way different. I hope they are good, I loooove peaches.

Well, I can’t wait to see what the tree has to offer! Keep me posted. My garden dream…well, one of them, is to have as much fresh yummies for the kiddos to munch on. I grew picking my own watermelons, strawberries and other veggies so I really want this to be a way for my kids as well….wish I had started gardening earlier! BLAH!
